Event description:

The Ministry of Information and Communications (Kenya) and the Kenya ICT Board are on a market sounding tour in UK and will be providing a briefing to the Diaspora and friends of Kenya on Konza Technology City on Friday 7th October from 6:30pm.

Konza Technology City (www.konzacity.co.ke) is a new technology city to be built on a 5,000 acre greenfield site 60km south of Nairobi and 50km south of Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) in Nairobi. Konza will attract and capture major technology based companies, including Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) companies. In addition, Konza will further promote the development of Nairobi southwards along Mombasa Road, thereby relieving pressure on Nairobi City Centre.

This is in line with the Kenya Vision 2030 objective for Kenya to ‘quickly become the top BPO destination in Africa’ as well as contributing to ensuring that the Kenyan population is adequately and decently housed in a sustainable environment. It also supports the ICT Board’s mandate of positioning and promoting Kenya as an ICT destination (locally and internationally), whilst especially promoting Business Process and Knowledge Process Outsourcing (BPO/KPO) and off shoring.

The Kenyan delegation will include:
Mr. Paul Kukubo - CEO ICT Board;
Ms. Esther Koimett, EBS Investment Secretary, Ministry of Finance;
Mr. Kirimi Guantai, Chief Economist, Min of Information and Communications

Mr. Joseph Muraga, Senior Principal Finance Officer, Min of Information and Communications;
Mrs Catherine Shiroko, Principal Accountant, Min of Information and Communications;
Ms. Tonya Nyakeya, PA to CEO ICT Board

The Event Registration will open at 6:30pm for 7:00pm start.
